Conflicts of Interest

The members of all working groups and the panel of experts were required to declare any potential conflict of interests.   All members completed a conflict of interest form on two occasions: at the November 2014 Consensus Conference and one year following by electronic format.   The Conflict of Interest Form asked participants about potential funding, research and proprietary sources of conflict or influences.

Forms were reviewed at each time point and no relevant conflicts of interest were noted. With the exception of Quebec physicians who received remuneration through an agreement with the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ), members of all the working groups involved in the development of the CPG were not remunerated. Their institutions have not been compensated for their contribution to the development work of the CPG. All the travel and accommodation costs, in particular for the consensus meeting, were borne by the project.
